Maizatul Hayati Mohamad Yatim is a senior lecturer and currently is the Dean of the Faculty of Art, Computing and Creative Industry, UPSI. As an invited member of the ICT Deans Council of Malaysia, she involved in the policy development of ICT education in Malaysia. In 2010, she developed the Diploma in Game Design and Development programme for UPSI. This in turn lead to the development of the Master of Design (Digital Games) and the Master of Design (Game-Based Learning) programmes. She is a proponent of learning through game making, in which she began to teach Scratch to school children since 2008, affording the children to have fun while learning computational thinking. Now she supervises Master’s and PhD students in game-based learning and creative multimedia technology, while conducting fundamental research and prototype developmental studies in human-computer interaction for games. Dr Maizatul is also a former executive member of the Serious Games Asia Society based in Singapore.
