National Head of Higher Education of the School of Engineering and Sciences of Tecnológico de Monterrey. Ileana has led Educational Innovation projects funded by the institution, including Novus 2018 and Novus Triada 2020, which focused on extended realities in collaboration with the Universidad de los Andes and the Universidad Católica de Chile. The research focuses on extended realities to strengthen the engagement of engineering students in their field.Author and speaker at national and international conferences with research on Women in STEM, Educational Innovation, and the use of immersive resources. Participating in educational innovation projects in the QS Reimagine 2024 : Innovative Digital Factory: Transforming Learning through Strategic Alliances (top 25%), and Tec Drone, Assessment of STEM Competencies using VR & AI ( bronze award).

Leader of the "Women in STEM" Committee of The Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions (LACCEI). Mentor in the Asia Pacific Women in Leadership Mentoring Program, and Matilda Chair Leader ( 2025-2026), Current president of the Matilda and Women in Engineering Latin American Open Chair (2025-2026), She was leader of the Mentoring Committee and member of the Research Committee. Author of chapters in Books 3 and 5 of Matilda and Women in Engineering, distributed with the Chair and at the Monterrey Book Fair in 2024
