Mark Airol Escranda is a civil and structural engineer, infrastructure strategist, and software developer with 14 years of international experience in structural design, computational engineering, and infrastructure delivery across Asia, North America, and Russia. His work spans large-scale industrial capital projects and community-oriented infrastructure initiatives in the Philippines. He specializes in computational and performance-based structural engineering, focusing on optimizing infrastructure systems for safety, efficiency, and sustainability, covering onshore and offshore petrochemical and industrial facilities using advanced structural software and computational workflows. He also develops civil engineering applications integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning for design, simulation, and optimization. As the founder of Cambridge Engineering Solutions, a software and engineering firm developing computational tools for structural analysis and infrastructure optimization, he embeds computational intelligence into engineering workflows across the infrastructure lifecycle. His practice operates under international standards including ASCE, AISC, ACI, Eurocode, UBC, British Standards, DNV, and the NSCP. He completed his master's degree at Harvard University and undertook coursework at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He has also been admitted to the University of Melbourne's Master of Engineering (Structures) program for the 2027 school year. Currently, he serves as Deputy Chief for Research at TUP IRTC, supporting applied research, technical capacity-building, and engineering education initiatives, and participates in development-oriented volunteer work in the Philippines.
