Dr. Michael W. Kimwele is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing and Information Technology at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Kenya, with extensive experience in higher education leadership, digital transformation, and research innovation. He holds a PhD in Information Technology and has served in various academic and administrative roles, including Director of the School of Computing and Information Technology and Acting Principal of the College of Pure and Applied Sciences. His work focuses on artificial intelligence, digital trust, ICT for development, climate-smart innovation, and technology-enhanced learning.

Dr. Kimwele has led and contributed to numerous regional and international initiatives, including research-industry collaboration projects, curriculum development, quality assurance, and capacity-building programs. He has supervised postgraduate research in Information Technology and Computer Science and actively supports innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives across Africa. He also serves as a reviewer, mentor, external examiner, and technical expert for several academic and professional organizations.

As a Judge for the QS Reimagine Education Awards, Dr. Kimwele brings deep expertise in educational technology, innovation ecosystems, and the application of emerging technologies to improve teaching, learning, and institutional effectiveness. His contributions reflect a strong commitment to advancing inclusive, sustainable, and transformative education globally.
