Dr. Naglaa Sami Abdelaziz Mahmoud is an educator, researcher, and interior architect with more than 30 years of academic and professional experience in interior design, lighting, acoustics, and environmental psychology. She is a faculty member at Ajman University in the United Arab Emirates, where she established the Lighting Applications and Experimentations Lab, one of the first specialized interior lighting and acoustics laboratories in the UAE.

Her research focuses on human perception in interior environments, including lighting design, color psychology, acoustics, and the integration of artificial intelligence in design education. Dr. Mahmoud has published in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences and actively contributes to academic quality assurance, accreditation, and innovation in higher education. She also serves as a reviewer, evaluator, and judge for international academic and design initiatives.
