
Dr. Narasimman Swaminathan is a rehabilitation
sciences educator and researcher, currently serving as a full Professor at the
School of Rehabilitation and Medical Sciences, University of Nizwa in the
Sultanate of Oman. He obtained his Post-graduation in Physiotherapy in 2003 and
completed a Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and
Research (FAIMER) fellowship in 2012. His research focuses on digital tools for
promoting physical activity and exercise adherence, as well as health profession
education.
He is actively engaged in training health professional
educators in curriculum development, quality assurance, teaching methods, and
assessment strategies. He is a member of the World Physiotherapy Education
Committee and has contributed as an expert committee member for national
physiotherapy curriculum development in India.
Throughout his career, he has held various international and
national adjunct appointments, including positions at Bournemouth University in
the UK, the University of South Australia in Australia, INTI International
University in Malaysia, and Peradeniya University in Sri Lanka. He has authored
63 peer-reviewed articles in indexed journals.
