Nicanor D. Germono, Jr. is a cultural worker and public servant currently serving as the Board Secretary, International Relations Officer, Project Development Officer IV, and Chief of the Governance & Academic Support Division at Pangasinan Polytechnic College (PPC). An advocate of community-led preservation, he is the Founder and President of Youth for Pangasinan Heritage (Y4PH), Inc. and the founder of the Dunong Baybay literacy program in Pangasinan’s fisherfolk communities.

His commitment to excellence and volunteer work has been recognized with the Pag-asa ng Bayan Award (2025), the Civil Service Hero Award in both 2022 and 2025, and as a Top 5 Finalist for the Kabataan Ang Galing (KaAGa) Award for Most Outstanding Pangasinan Youth. He is an alumnus of prestigious leadership development programs, including the Ateneo Graduate School of Business Leading and Managing Change Program and the John Maxwell Leadership Foundation. He has also received specialized grants and scholarships from the Metrobank Foundation Inc., Museum Foundation of the Philippines, Inc., U.S. Embassy in the Philippines – Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI), the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), and the Institute for the Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (United Kingdom).

With a solid academic foundation in Social Anthropology and Political Science from the University of the Philippines Baguio and graduate studies in Public Administration, his professional history includes serving as an Executive Assistant at the Center for Pangasinan Studies - Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, as the Tourism Programs Officer for the 4th Congressional District of Pangasinan, and as Project Officer for the Creative Industries Development – Program Management Unit of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Central Office. A technical consultant on cultural mapping, he has led and contributed to documentation projects for various LGUs including Mangatarem, Calasiao, Lingayen, and Bayambang. A registered Author/Editor and Writer with the National Book Development Board (NBDB), he has contributed to heritage and sustainable development literature, serving as the Editor of the Tawid: A Glimpse of Mangatarem’s History, Culture, and Heritage coffeetable book (2025), The Localization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Pangasinan (2026), and as an author and contributor for international publications with UNESCO (Paris, France) in 2022 and 2024.
