
Dr. Nikleia Eteokleous holds a PhD in Educational Administration with emphasis in Educational Technology, M. Ed in Instructional Systems, and M. Ed in Educational Administration (2002) from the Pennsylvania State University and BA in Public and Business Administration from the University of Cyprus. She works as an Associate Professor in Educational Technology at Frederick University. She is also the Head of the Distance Learning Committee and coordinates the operations of the Center for Innovation and Excellence in Teaching (CIET). Her research interests focus on new and emergent technologies integration in the educational practice; online and blended learning environments, teacher education and technology and the design of learning environments enhanced with technology. She is also involved in research activities related to open and online distance learning, and the integration of robotics and programming in the educational practice, STEM/STEAM pedagogy, MakerSpaces and MakerEducation approach, and the development of problem based skills, 21st century skills, creativity, computational thinking skills. She is the co-founder of Robotics Academy - Frederick University (https://www.facebook.com/AkadimiaRompotikis/ (a research and educational unit that promotes and conduct research in the area of robotics education). She has published articles in established and well-known international scientific journals, book chapters and conference proceedings. Her academic activities include participation in numerous research projects having different roles and responsibilities. She is an elected member of Frederick’s University Senate, and served for two years as an elected Co-Chair of the Distance and Flexible Learning SIG of SITE, and registered member of several scientific organizations such as AERA and RIE. She has been recently assigned the role of one of the honorary vice-presidents of The Board of COMinG – Communication Institute of Greece | Coming.gr
