Dr. Pauli Lai is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is dedicated to advancing innovative pedagogies and integrating technology to transform learning experiences, with a particular focus on leveraging AI and educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning. Dr. Lai has spearheaded multiple AI‑driven teaching innovations that have gained international recognition, with projects shortlisted for Technological or Digital Innovation of the Year at THE Awards Asia 2025, Teaching and Learning Strategy of the Year at THE Awards Asia 2026, the Best AI Innovation Award at EDUtech Asia Awards 2025, and the QS Reimagine Education Awards in 2023 and 2025. She has also received the eLearning Forum Asia (eLFA) Exemplary Teaching and Learning Silver Award (2022) and Community Outreach Silver Award (2025). Her interdisciplinary team won the Gold Award in the Smart Omnichannel Campus category and the Global Education Award at the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2024, often described as the “Oscars” of the education sector.
