
Payam Shafigh has received his doctoral degree (with distinction) in
Structural Engineering & Materials from the Universiti Malaya in 2013 and
obtained his MSc in Civil Engineering Structure (2003) and BSc in Civil
Engineering (2000) from the Babol Noshirvani University of Technology, Iran. He
worked in the Universiti Malaya (2013 to 2024) in the positions of Research
Fellow, Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor and currently he is working as
a Distinguished Professor and Director of Zhejiang-Malaysia Joint Laboratory on
Marine Low-carbon (Green) Building Materials in the College of Architecture and
Energy Engineering, Wenzhou University of Technology, China. He is a Chartered
Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) and a Graduate
Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), UK. He has more than 18
years teaching experience in the field of civil engineering and in research he was
listed among world's top 2% scientists by Stanford University for the years
2021 to 2025. As a site supervisor and structure inspector, he was involved in
several public and private construction projects and applied advanced concrete
materials in construction of bridges and buildings, such as designing and
supervising construction of structural lightweight aggregate concrete in
Terengganu Drawbridge in Malaysia.
