
Dr. Philip P. Ermita is a distinguished Professional Industrial Engineer (PIE) and ASEAN Engineer, currently serving as Professor I and Director of the Technology Business Incubation and Development Office (TBIDO) at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. He concurrently serves as Program Chair for the Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (MSIE) and the Graduate Diploma in Project Management at the PUP Graduate School, where he advances innovation-driven education and industry-relevant academic programs.
In 2023, Dr. Ermita completed his Post-Doctoral Diploma in Quality Management at Centro Escolar University, further strengthening his expertise in quality systems and organizational excellence. His academic leadership includes serving as Dean of the College of Engineering at University of Perpetual Help System DALTA–Calamba Campus (2015–2021), and as Associate Dean and Assistant Professor at the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology of De La Salle University–Dasmarinas (2010–2015).
Beyond academia, Dr. Ermita has extensive industry experience in the ceramics and electronics manufacturing sectors (2005–2010), providing him with a strong foundation in production systems, quality engineering, and industrial operations. He is also a sought-after consultant and trainer for manufacturing firms, service industries, and government agencies, specializing in industrial engineering, quality management, innovation systems, and project management. His academic qualifications include a Doctorate in Engineering Management from Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, a Master of Engineering major in Industrial Engineering from Adamson University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering along with a Diploma in Business Administration from De La Salle University–Dasmarinas.
A strong advocate of engineering education, research, and quality assurance, Dr. Ermita is an active researcher, peer reviewer, evaluator, and scholarly contributor in various journals, conferences, and symposia. He serves as an Accreditor and Evaluator for the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation and the Philippine Technological Council. Further strengthening his national leadership role in engineering education, Dr. Ermita was recently appointed as a Member of the Technical Panel for Industrial Engineering of the Commission on Higher Education and as a Member of the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) under the Philippine Technological Council, where he contributes to policy development, standards setting, and accreditation of engineering programs in the Philippines.
