
Engr. Reynaldo P. Ramos, Ph.D., EnP, is the 9th President of the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP). A licensed Civil Engineer and Environmental Planner, Dr. Ramos has dedicated his professional career to advancing engineering education, sustainable development, and institutional excellence.
This
year 2026, Dr Ramos received the prestigious “Climate Heroes Award” from the
Commission on Climate Change (CCC) in grateful recognition of his
outstanding leadership and unwavering dedication to advancing climate change
action and sustainability. He was also one of the 2026 “Kaibigan Awardees” of Mania’s Finest – Manila Police District – a recognition given to
individuals, stakeholders, and community partners who significantly contribute
to the peace, order, and anti-criminality campaigns in the City of Manila. In
December 2025, he was named as the “Most Outstanding Alumni Award” for
Education by the TUP Manila Association during the 124th Founding Anniversary of the
university. He was also honored with the 2024 Distinguished Alumni Award by the
Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand in recognition of his
outstanding contributions to engineering and education.
Further
highlighting his commitment to leadership excellence, Dr Ramos was recently
awarded a Leadership and Management Certificate from the prestigious Wharton
Business School, University of Pennsylvania, as a grantee of the CHED Husay
Leadership Scholarship Batch 2.
In
early 2025, he was appointed Chairperson of SEANERGY, a regional network for
engineering and sustainable development organized in collaboration with the
Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP),
Malaysia. Currently, Dr. Ramos also serves as the Executive Director of the
United Nations Association of the Philippines (UNA-Philippines) and as
the Vice President for External Affairs of the Philippine Institute of
Environmental Planners (PIEP) – Romblon Chapter.
His research
interests include river system management, urban planning, green building, GIS
applications, alternative construction materials, higher education, and quality
assurance.
