Dr. Robert W. Robertson is a Senior Research Fellow with the Institute for Commonwealth Studies, School of Advanced Studies, University of London.  He has more than twenty-five years of experience in the higher education sector as a professor and administrator. 

Most recently, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the University College of the Cayman Islands and previously as President of the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute.

He received an Education Administrator Award of Excellence in 2011 from Pearson; and he was named a Fulbright Specialist (2016) by the US Department of State; and an International Scholar (Emerging Leader in the America's-2023) by Global Affairs Canada. In 2024 he was named Principal Fellow Higher Education Academy (PFHEA) by Advance HE for his strategic, evidence-based sustainable initiatives in education; and in 2025 a Fellow City and Guilds London Institute (FCGI).

Dr. Robertson’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science (East Tennessee State University); Master of Arts (Eastern Kentucky University); Master of Public Administration (Dalhousie University, Canada); Master of Studies in Environmental Law (Vermont Law School);Post Graduate Diploma in International Management-China (University of London); Post- Doctoral Certificate, International Business and Leadership (Argosy University); Graduate Diploma, International Development ( London School of Economics and Political Science); and, Doctor of Philosophy in Management and Organization (Stirling University).
