
Dr. Sai Kishore Ravi is Assistant Professor and Digital Learning Lead in the School of Energy and Environment at City University of Hong Kong. His work sits at the intersection of active learning and energy education, with a particular focus on Scenario-Driven Team-Based Learning, experiential education, and the effective integration of emerging digital technologies into university teaching. He has designed and implemented innovative learning experiences that combine scenario-based learning, industry engagement, simulations, gamification, and AI-enabled tools to help students develop critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and decision-making skills. His educational initiatives have been adopted across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and contribute to a broader ecosystem of active learning that reaches thousands of students across the university. Beyond teaching, Dr. Ravi is an internationally recognised researcher in energy and sustainability, leading research programmes spanning solar fuels water-energy nexus, biohybrid systems, and plastic upcycling. He has published extensively in leading journals including Advanced Materials, Nature Communications, Science Advances, and Advanced Energy Materials. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Energy Technology (Wiley) and has held editorial appointments with several leading materials and energy journals. Drawing on experience across teaching, educational innovation, research leadership, and scholarly publishing, Dr. Ravi is interested in approaches that bridge knowledge with practice, foster meaningful student engagement, and equip learners to navigate complex challenges in an increasingly interconnected and rapidly evolving world.
