
Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Saifful Kamaluddin Muzakir is an Associate Professor in the Material Technology Programme, Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), Malaysia, and currently serves as Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Advanced Intelligent Materials (CAIM). He received his B.Sc. in Physics in 2003 and M.Sc. in Physics in 2007 from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and obtained his Ph.D. in Advanced Materials from Universiti Malaysia Pahang in 2015. His academic and research work integrates theoretical and experimental approaches in advanced materials, with particular interests in semiconductor nanomaterials, density functional theory, quantum dots, thin films, photovoltaic materials, polymer electrolytes, and vacuum-thermal-evaporation-based nanostructures.
Throughout his academic career, he has held several major leadership appointments at UMPSA, including Head of the Material Technology Programme, Deputy Dean of Academic and Student Affairs, Dean, and Senior Research Fellow. He has supervised undergraduate and postgraduate research in materials physics, solar cells, energy-storage materials, and nanostructured thin films, while also contributing to curriculum development, micro-credential and online course development, external examination, consultation, and STEM community outreach.
His scholarly work appears in journals and proceedings such as Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, Journal of Materials Research and Technology, Polymers, Materials Chemistry and Physics, Membranes, and Materials Today: Proceedings.
