
Mrs. Siti Nor Junita (PhD Candidate) is a lecturer and researcher specialising in accounting, corporate governance, internal control systems, financial reporting, and accounting education. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Accounting at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), where her research focuses on the relationship between internal control systems and the timeliness of financial reporting in Malaysian cooperatives, with particular emphasis on the mediating role of internal audit committee effectiveness.
She has extensive experience in teaching undergraduate accounting courses, including Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis, Cost Accounting, and Accounting Information Systems. Her teaching philosophy emphasises student-centred learning, authentic assessment, and innovative pedagogical approaches that enhance students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Beyond teaching, she is actively involved in curriculum development, educational innovation, and academic research. She has led the development of innovative teaching and learning initiatives and has been recognised for her contributions to higher education, including being a runner-up in the Anugerah Khas Inovasi Rekabentuk Kurikulum (AKRI). Her current educational innovation project, STEP-iN (Where Struggle Becomes Strategy), focuses on improving accounting education through structured scaffolding and active learning strategies.
Her research interests include corporate governance, internal control systems, internal audit, financial reporting quality, cooperatives, accounting education, and educational innovation. She is committed to producing impactful research that contributes to both academic knowledge and professional practice while fostering excellence in teaching, learning, and governance.
