Dr. Sivapragasam Panneerselvam is an OB & HRM professor at the Thiagarajar School of Management (TSM), Madurai, and a social worker by passion who strives for igniting talents find and realize their true strengths.

Dr. Sivapragasam (Dr. Siva) holds a doctoral degree in management from Pondicherry University, and MSW specializing in HR from the Madras School of Social Work, (MSSW), Chennai.  Kickstarting his career as a community-based rehabilitation officer after his community health program from Christian Medical College, Vellore (TN), Dr. Siva explored social work profession after Tsunami hit the Indian Coast during the 2004, before realizing his passion and alignment of values towards developing young minds for nation building and towards creating a better society.

With training, research, and publication interests on careers, corporate social responsibility, environmental sustainability, family business research, human resource management, leadership, organizational sciences, personality development and professional effectiveness, Dr. Siva has published research articles in international journals, indexed and peer reviewed journals.

Employing a first-hand approach to his work, Dr. Siva is known for living the passion in working towards a better society. His work combines timely knowledge to encourage people to live with more meaning, passion, and joy. He is a trainer, career counsellor, engaging researcher with consulting interests on CSR, culture, leadership, employability, and positive youth development. 

Dr. Siva continuously engages rising HRs and professionals in the application of people skills for personal and professional effectiveness. Siva’s learning and developmental engagement offer deep-dive experiences in organizational behaviour, leadership, HRM, CSR, interpersonal effectiveness, etc., but also strengthen one’s voice, identify with one’s values and experience meaningfulness and joy in work and life.

Dr. Siva is the recipient of various awards such as Best Professor in HRM by Asia Pacific HRM Congress (2021), Runner-Up (Faculty & SIP Track) at SIMSARC 2020, INDAM Best Paper Award – for Inclusion Track (2020), UGC Junior Research Fellowship (June 2009), Dr. Kothari Award for Research (2008), Best Outgoing Student (II MSW, 2008), General Proficiency Award (I MSW I, 2007), etc.

Dr. Siva is a life member with the National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM, Madras Chapter), National HRD Network (NHRD Chennai Chapter), Indian Society of Training and Development (ISTD Chennai Chapter) and the Dindigul District HR Foundation (DDHRF).

A native of Puducherry, Dr. Siva presently lives in Madurai with his wife, Kavitha, a seasoned professional social worker, and with two kids, Rituraaj Vishakan and Harthick Mukundan.
