Thomas Chiu is Professor of AI and STEM Education at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), where he serves as Director of the Centre for Learning Enhancement and Research (CLEAR) and Associate Director of the two centres: the University and School Partnership and the Learning Sciences and Technologies. An internationally recognized scholar, he has been named among the Stanford University Top 2% Most Cited Scientists for his sustained research impact. He brings extensive leadership and teaching experience across both school and higher education sectors and serves on a range of local and international advisory and government committees. Thomas is a global leader in advancing AI and digital innovation in education, with visiting scholar appointments and research collaborations spanning five continents. His work focuses on AI education, teacher AI competencies, human-AI collaboration, STEM education, and technology-enhanced learning. He leads the development of professional learning initiatives, curricula, and evidence-based strategies that support educators and institutions in navigating the opportunities and challenges of the AI era. A frequent keynote and invited speaker at international conferences and professional forums, He actively contributes to shaping educational policy and practice worldwide. He also provides significant scholarly leadership as Editor-in-Chief of Interactive Learning Environments and Associate Editor for several leading international journals in education, educational technology, and psychology.
