Tony GOH’s pedagogy draws on a multidisciplinary combination of academic training and professional experience. His teaching engages questions at the intersection of language, regional developments, and public communication in Southeast Asia.
With an MSc in International Relations from the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University, and a BA in Business Management from Edinburgh Napier University, Tony brings insights from his prior career as a television news producer and intelligence specialist into the language classroom. These experiences allow him to connect linguistic discourse with real-world developments in media, security, and regional affairs.
His research interests focus on political communication and discourse within the ASEAN context, particularly how language shapes collaboration and decision-making within regional political-security communities. In the classroom, he emphasizes the development of critical thinking and communicative agency in an era increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence and digital media.
