Yanbo Zhou, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at East China University of Science and Technology & Jinggangshan University. He is a Shanghai Municipal Distinguished Teacher for Curriculum‑based Ideological and Political Education, Shanghai Oriental Scholar Distinguished Professor, Outstanding Shanghai Technical Leader, and Shanghai Rising‑Star of Science and Technology. He has been listed in the Stanford World’s Top 2% Scientists and ScholarGPS Top 0.05% Global Scholars, as well as the 2026 Top 100 000 Scientists Academic Competitiveness Ranking (Engineering & Technology).

He serves as Principal Investigator of the Innovation Team for High‑risk Organic Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery. He is a member of the State Key Laboratory of Coal Liquefaction, Gasification and Efficient Low‑carbon Utilization, and the State Environmental Protection Key Laboratory of Environmental Risk Assessment and Control on Chemical Processes. He is also the Academic Leader of Jiangxi Key Laboratory of Functional Organisms and Pollution Control in Red‑soil Regions. His concurrent appointments include Vice‑Chair of the Water Environment Committee, Shanghai Society for Environmental Sciences; Expert of National Postgraduate Education Evaluation and Monitoring; and Judge for the QS Re‑imagine Education Awards.

He acts as an editorial board member for SCI journals including *Chinese Chemical Letters* and *Engineering Environment*. His main research interests cover source control and resource recovery of pollutants, environmental functional materials, and coordinated pollution abatement‑carbon reduction. He develops catalytic degradation and adsorption‑separation technologies for the remediation of high‑risk pollutants such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, heavy metals and environmental hormones. Over the past five years, he has presided over more than 20 national and provincial‑level projects, including Key Joint Fund and General Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and sub‑projects of the National Key R&D Program. He has published over 140 papers in prestigious international journals such as Water Research and Chemical Engineering Journal, among which 22 are ESI Highly Cited Papers. More than 30 national invention patents have been authorized.

Awards and Honors: As the first‑ranked achiever, he won the First‑class Prize of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Award (2025) for Development and Application of Green Intelligent Leaching Equipment for Sites Contaminated by Complex Multi‑element Heavy Metals, and the Second‑class Prize of Shanghai Natural Science Award (2025) for Precise Capture and Confined Catalysis Mechanism of Emerging Contaminants in Water by Cavity Micro‑reactors. In 2026, he received the Outstanding Young Scientist Award in Environmental Chemistry from *Chinese Chemical Letters*. In the same year, his leading achievement “Integrated Key Technologies for In‑situ Remediation and Carbon Sequestration of Petrochemical‑contaminated Sites” was awarded the Gold Medal at the 51st Geneva International Inventions Exhibition.
