The Sustainability Education Literacy Award recognises educational institutions, teams, or programmes that have demonstrated commitment to advancing sustainability education through knowledge, understanding, and capability development. This category celebrates initiatives that embed sustainability principles across curricula, learning frameworks, or educational experiences, fostering long-term awareness, critical thinking, and responsible decision-making.

Eligible initiatives may include curriculum integration, interdisciplinary programmes, pedagogical innovation, institutional learning frameworks, or educational initiatives that deepen understanding of the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of sustainability and their interconnections. Projects may include climate literacy components, such as education on climate systems, climate risk, mitigation and adaptation pathways, or the societal implications of climate change, alongside broader sustainability literacy efforts addressing social justice, equity and inclusion, ethical leadership, biodiversity, responsible consumption, economic sustainability, and global citizenship.

Projects may include experiential, practice-based, or action-oriented components, however, applicants should select this category where the primary emphasis is on learning, understanding, and capability-building, rather than on implementing sustainability actions themselves.

If an initiative intentionally combines sustainability learning and action, applicants should select the category that best reflects its primary purpose and outcomes.

Once you have selected the appropriate category and pathway, please follow the steps below:

1. Select your category and pathway if applicable, then click “ENTER NOW.”
2. Register to create your account and complete all required questions. Please review the login requirements on the Awards entry system carefully. If you have applied at any time since 2022, please use your existing credentials to access your account.
3. After registering, you will receive an email containing a validation code. Enter this code to complete your registration. If you do not see the email, please check your junk or spam folder.
4. You must complete registration on the platform before you can begin your application.
5. You may save your progress at any time and return later by logging in via the “YOUR ACCOUNT” tab in the menu.
6. When you are ready to submit, agree to the Terms and Conditions and click the “COMPLETE” button at the bottom of the page.
7. If you forget your password, please use the password reset option on the login page.
