In April 2020, he became the first Jordanian to be certified as an Nvidia Deep Learning Institute (DLI) Instructor and DLI University Ambassador. Dr. Al-Omari is also a judge for the QS Reimagine Education Awards.

He earned his B.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Yarmouk University (YU), Irbid, Jordan, in 2004. From 2004 to 2010, he served as a teaching assistant and lab engineer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at YU, where he contributed to over 30 projects in computers, communication, and electronic engineering. Dr. Al-Omari was awarded a grant exceeding $150,000 from YU to pursue a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics. He also received a Teaching Assistant grant worth over $133,000 from the University of Georgia (UGA), USA—recognized as the oldest public university in the United States and one of its top-ranked institutions. At UGA, he was a member of Professor Jonathan Arnold's research group, focusing on systems biology and genetic networks.

Dr. Al-Omari's research centers on the complex dynamics and regulatory mechanisms of the biological clock in Neurospora crassa, employing a diverse array of topics and methodologies. His expertise spans machine learning, deep learning, big data, numerical methods, circadian rhythms, computational modeling, and parallel computing. His work elucidates the complex interactions among genes and proteins involved in circadian rhythms, providing insights into the fundamental regulatory mechanisms of the biological clock. He possesses extensive knowledge in machine learning and deep learning techniques, applying these advanced methods in bioinformatics, biomedical informatics, and health informatics to solve complex problems and derive valuable insights from large-scale biological and healthcare data. His contributions include developing predictive models, pattern recognition systems, and data-driven approaches that facilitate precise analysis, interpretation, and decision-making in these interdisciplinary fields. His research bridges computational biology and informatics, fostering innovative applications in precision medicine, disease diagnostics, and personalized healthcare.

Dr. Al-Omari has also taught graduate-level courses in Bioinformatics at UGA, including the advanced programming course BINF 6003, "A Practical Advanced Programming Course/C++ Object Oriented Design and GPU/CUDA," in the summer term of 2014. He served as an instructor for the CUDA teaching center at UGA.

As a grant proposal writer, Dr. Al-Omari has numerous published papers and posters in bioinformatics, numerical methods, and parallel algorithms on GPGPUs. For his significant contributions and collaborations, he has an Erdős number of 2. He is an editorial board member of the PLOS ONE Journal and Applied Computational Intelligence and Soft Computing. He has participated in five international conferences related to his field. He secured a grant from Nvidia, leading Yarmouk University to be selected as a GPU Education Center. The grant included a GPU teaching kit with 10 books, one Tesla K40 (active), two Titan X GPUs, and $2,500, totaling $13,000.

Dr. Al-Omari is recognized as the first bioinformatician in Jordan to earn a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics. From 2015 to 2020, he was an assistant professor and researcher at YU. His current research interests include parallel computation, systems biology, finite element methods, machine learning and pattern recognition, biological circuits and gene networks, and numerical analysis.

Ahmed Abdel-Meguid is the Associate Provost for Enrollment Management at the American University in Cairo (AUC). He is a tenured professor of accounting at the American University in Cairo (AUC) School of Business – a Triple Crown school (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA) where he teaches financial accounting and auditing courses. As the Associate Provost for Enrollment Management, he oversees several offices and units including the Office of Recruitment, Admissions, Enrollment, Student Services, The Office of Student Financial Support, and the International Programs and Services Office.

Abdel-Meguid served as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies and Administration at AUC School of Business (2017-2021). He was also the chair of the department of accounting (2013 – 2016) and the Director of the MBA Programs at AUC School of Business (2013-2015). He was also the founding faculty mentor for the first Cooperative Education program (CO-OP) at the AUC. Prof Albert Guskov was trained as a structural biologist (PhD in 2009, Free University of Berlin). In his research Prof Guskov combines macromolecular X-ray crystallography, single particle cryo-EM, and Molecular dynamics simulations in his original investigations on membrane proteins and macromolecular complexes. 

Albert’s group has significantly contributed into mechanistic understanding of mechanisms of transmembrane transport  via primary and secondary active transporters as well as channels.

Albert Guskov has published >70 peer-reviewed papers that so far have received >4500 citations (H-index 30). His research is funded via numerous prestigious grants . As a recognition of his scientific excellence, Albert was awarded an honorary professorship at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (2019) and a medal of excellence for contribution in science (2021). Furthermore, he is a member of the NeCEN Advisory committee, Associate Editor of Frontiers in Biophysics, head of Program Committee monitoring the educational standards of Master programs at FSE, a regular member of PhD committees, and an active peer-reviewer (top peer reviewer award 2017) for such journals as Science and Nature family journals, Structure, eLife, Biochim Biophys Acta, etc., as well as a grant reviewer for various International and national funding agencies – DFG (Germany), CNRS (France), FWO (Belgium), Helmholtz Foundation (Germany), and NSC (Poland).

Alberto ALMENDRA received the Telecommunication Engineering degree in 1991 and the Ph.D. degree in Telecommunications with summa cum laude in 2001, both from the E.T.S.I. Telecomunicación (ETSIT), Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain. Since 1991 he has been a faculty member of UPM, formerly as Associate Professor and currently as Professor in the Area of Electronics Engineering.

As Director of International Relations of ETSIT-UPM (2004-2013), he was responsible for the management and deployment of different Double Degree Agreements and the mobility of students and staff.

Since 2013 he is Deputy Vice-Rector for Internationalization and EU Programmes, as well as representative for UPM in different networks: Magalhaes, ATHENS,...

As Deputy Vice-Rector, he is the Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator and is responsible, among other duties, of the design and development of the internationalization policies at UPM. One of the main actions undertaken has been to expand the portfolio and intensively promote the international double degrees. It is his responsibility to establish new agreements, participate in international networks, and Higher Education forums, contributing actively to promote and disseminate the UPM strategic partnership plans.

His research activities are in the areas of Micro and Nanoelectronics devices fabrication and characterization, and in Wireless Sensor Networks.

Goodman is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of International Education, which marked its Centennial in 2019.  IIE promotes the exchange of scholars and students, rescues scholars, students, and artists from persecution, displacement, and crises, conducts research on international academic mobility, and administers the Fulbright program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. IIE collaborates with a wide range of corporate, government and foundation partners across the globe. 108 of its directors, grantees, and alumni of programs administered by IIE are recipients of Nobel Prizes.  

Dr. Goodman is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and serves on the selection committees for Rhodes and Schwarzman Scholars and has previously served on the Yidan Prize. He also serves on the Council for Higher Education Accreditation International Quality Group Advisory Council and the Board of Trustees of the Education Above All Foundation. Dr. Goodman has a Ph.D. in Government from Harvard, an M.P.A. from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and a B.S. from Northwestern University, and is the recipient of honorary degrees from Canadian, European, Japanese, UK, and US universities. He received decorations for his work in promoting educational exchange and scholar rescue from the governments of France, Germany, and Norway; he received the first Gilbert Medal from the Universitas 21 Organisation.

Before joining IIE, Dr Goodman was Executive Dean of the School of Foreign Service and Professor at Georgetown University.  His books on international relations are published by Princeton, Harvard, and Yale University presses. He has served at the Department of State and the Central Intelligence Agency.

Amir Ismail received a B.Sc. (2007) in geophysics and seismology from Helwan University, Egypt. His M.Sc. (2014) and PhD (2020) from Helwan University in Egypt focused on seismic data processing, seismic stratigraphy, seismic attributes, rock physics, seismic inversion, and machine learning techniques. He was a member of the research team at Università di Napoli Federico II, Department of Physics "Ettore Pancini," Italy, for two years (joint PhD supervision 2018–2020). He was awarded a research fellowship for six months (2021–2022), from which he was involved in seismic imaging of the Solfatara crater (Campi Flegrei caldera, southern Italy) project to detect evidence of the fluid's migration pathways in the shallow structures. He recently received a Fulbright scholarship and works in the Geophysics Lab, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. He is still affiliated with Helwan University, Egypt, as a geophysics lecturer. Anoud A. Alhamad is an Assistant Professor of English Literature and Literary Theory in the College of Languages at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh, KSA. She has been assigned different positions at PNU as a vice chair of the Department of the English Language and Literature, a Vice Dean of Quality at the College of Languages, Vice Dean of Academic Accreditation, Vice President’s Deputy of Quality and Development, the Vice President’s Deputy of Higher Studies and Scientific Research, Quality Consultant of the College of Languages, and lately the Director of Women Research Center.

 

      She attended many national and international programs on quality assurance and accreditation, and she joined projects of both Institutional and Program Accreditations at college and university levels. She is an internal assessor of the European Foundation of Quality Management Excellence Model (EFQM). She is also an internal auditor and trainer of quality and accreditation and a member of the University Ranking board at PNU.  She joined many review panels as a review panel member of program accreditations with the NCAAA in many universities. She has participated in membership and chairing many of PNU quality boards and committees like chairing Quality Assurance Standard and Institutional Conditions Report. She is also a member of many institutional boards like Spend Efficiency, Research-only Staff Board, Human Power Planning, PNU KPIs' Board beside other committees on the dept. and college levels. 

 

    She has also good experience in the field of translation, and she took a part in the English/Arabic Islamic Glossary as a head translator.  She also translated children’s stories and was an external assessor of the nominated works for King Abdullah Award for Translation.  Lastly, she has interests in creative writing, world literatures, criticism and women and gender studies. Currently, she also works with the Coordinating Council for Social Research Centers in KSA.

 

     Moreover, she has good practical experience in leadership, and she also attended a one-year program on Pioneering Executive Leadership (PEL) in PNU in partnership with INSEAD School of Business. Recently, she has been awarded “an Outstanding Leadership Award” from the international Education 2.0 Conference in 2023.

Dr Ben Milbourn is Associate Professor, (teaching and research) in Occupational Therapy, Curtin School of Allied Health-Curtin University. Ben trained as an occupational therapist (OT) in the United Kingdom (UK), working in New Zealand, Australia and the UK practicing occupational therapy in mental health and disability contexts.  Ben undertook a PhD at Curtin University in occupational therapy, focusing on the occupational meaning of everyday activity of people who experience severe mental illness.  

Ben is Deputy Director of Curtin Autism Research Group (CARG) and is interested in research with a strong community focus, working alongside autistic individuals to promote social inclusion, well-being and positive mental health. Ben is passionate about co-produced research and developing strengths-based programs in the community.

The work of CARG is underpinned by a philosophy of "Nothing about you without you" with all projects either being co-lead or informed by autistic individuals themselves (Photovoice study co-produced with autistic adults).  CARG is fundamentally committed to impact and translation, frequently holding community and virtual events, informing the community of the latest evidence-based practice.

Ben has been successful in public, industry and teaching research grants as well as presenting his research outputs at international and national conferences. Ben was part of the team to develop a strengths-based program for autistic adolescents. This program won a prestigious local (western Australia Premier Science award) national award (Business/Higher Education Round Table (BHERT) and internationally (Entrepreneurship, Engagement & Excellence in Higher Education-Triple E) for harnessing and recognising the special talents and dedication of autistic young people.

Cameron works with the Government of Jordan and the university sector to increase the quantity and improve the quality of schoolteachers countrywide through a systems approach that integrates pre-service and in-service reforms for early grades education.  Through a holistic child-centered approach that encompasses social and emotional learning,  universal design for learning,  inclusive education, play based learning, climate-smart education, and technology the ASAS program aims to reach 1 million children and support over 23,000 teachers. 

Previously, Cameron was the Chief of Party for the Pre Service Teacher Education In Jordan program(PRESTIJ)  that successfully introduced and scaled up a post graduate teaching diploma which has significantly reduced teacher shortages and increased the quality of teaching through a high quality, intensive and accredited teaching diploma delivered by public universities.  

Prior to joining IREX Cameron spent several years reforming the higher education sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. First, as Head of Strategy at the Ministry of Higher Education, he co-authored the first national strategy for higher education and authored the first employers-led graduate skills guide in 2014. Then as Director of Strategy for the University of Bahrain, he authored the transformation plan and established several high-profile employer and research collaborations, introduced over 20 new employer-led programs which increased graduate employment to 84% within 3 years, and led the university to its highest ever employability ranking position and global ranking. 

In the UK, Cameron was responsible for delivering such programs as the Respect Action Plan, the Youth Action Plan, young apprenticeships, the family intervention program, the review of diversity in the curriculum, and the review of child poverty while at the Department for Education and Skills. Cameron was also an advisor to the Ministry of Higher Education for Egypt, supporting the improvement of over 40 Universities in Partnership with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank

Cameron is a board member of Global Impact Initiative an NGO that supports refugees gaining valuable employment skills upon resettlement and recently co-authored the book ‘Higher Education and Skills Development in Industry 4.0’.  He holds a postgraduate certificate in change management from Birkbeck College University of London and a MSc in public policy from SOAS, University of London

Chris is also an alumni of Lancaster having completed a Lancaster MBA (1999), a Master of Philosophy in Critical Management (2003) and a PhD in Leadership and Management (2024). External leadership experience include being a member of the Office for Students Quality Improvement Committee; an accreditation panel member for the Association of MBAs; an external examiner for the Durham University; and a Member of the Parochial Church Council of St Peters, Halliwell. Previously he held a strategic leadership role as a Non-executive Director and Audit Committee Chair of Bolton at Home. Chris is a teacher, speaker, facilitator, programme designer and researcher on responsible leadership, leading, decision making and corporate responsibility.

Dr Christian Schott is an Associate Professor of Sustainable Tourism Management at Wellington School of Business and Government, Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington in Aotearoa New Zealand. His research interests include the impacts of tourism, climate change, education for sustainability, VR and education, and youth mobility. Christian is the Chair of the Principles of Responsible Management Education Steering Committee at WSBG and leads a trans-disciplinary project harnessing virtual reality technology to foster experiential education about sustainability and climate change, which was awarded the Gold Award in the Sustainability Category at the prestigious QS-Wharton 2020 Reimagine Education Awards. Christian has been invited to speak at the New Zealand Parliament about Sustainable and Regenerative Tourism, published extensively in high impact journals, serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Tourism Futures and Frontiers in Sustainable Tourism, and received the ‘Research Article of the Year 2018 Award’ in the highly ranked journal Tourism Recreation Research with Sochea Nhem for their article on Community-based Tourism. Christian was recently awarded a 2022 Te Whatu Kairangi | Aotearoa New Zealand National Tertiary Educator Award.

She founded two impactful NGOs: Women on a Mission and HER Planet Earth using the power of expeditionary travel to mobilise resources and heighten awareness around critical issues disproportionately affecting women such as violence, economic crisis and climate change.

 

Her diverse career spans roles at Nike across four continents, and leadership in Marketing & Communications at Temasek Trust—the philanthropic arm of Temasek Holdings. More recently she co-founded Investors for Climate, a global community of dedicated investors actively deploying in sustainability.

 

Christine's notable affiliations as a board member include the Impact Investment Exchange (IIX), Investible, Utopia Capital Management, Zero Waste Singapore, and the Sulubaaï Environmental Foundation of the Philippines. Her research focuses on the area of factors that influence teaching and learning, digital competences, emotional education and the visual arts.

She is the author and co-author of research articles published in national journals and chapters of academic books. She is currently a full-time Professor-Researcher in the Department of Education Sciences and Academic Director of the same department.

Claudia Susana López holds a bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree in Design with a specialization in New Technologies from UAM Azcapotzalco. Since 2010, she has collaborated at Tecnológico de Monterrey in various positions ranging from research professor, Director of the Center for Teaching Development and Educational Innovation at the Estado de México Campus, leader of the area of Experimentation and Impact Measurement of Educational Innovation, Regional Director of CEDDIEs for the Northern Region, Leader of Innovation and Strategic Intelligence for Faculty Development, and currently, she is a full-time professor in the Design Department at the Monterrey Campus, in the School of Architecture, Art, and Design (EAAD).


Her research focuses on the relationship between cognition, color, and art. During her 34 years of teaching, she has taught at various higher education institutions such as LaSalle University, Iberoamericana University, Tepeyac University, and the Autonomous Metropolitan University, among others. Over the years, she has taught more than 200 training and innovation-boosting courses for educators in over 10 institutions such as the University of Guadalajara, FIMPES, South-Central Region, Mexico; Save the Children International, Javeriana University, Colombia; Uniandes, Chile, Consortium of Brazilian Universities, UTEM, Chile, among others.


She also participates as a reviewer and judge for more than 10 international platforms such as the QS Reimagine Education Awards, the Teaching Products Evaluation Committee at Javeriana University, Chile, the Editorial Board of DIDAC, Iberoamericana University, Mexico, among others.
